A Day at Istinye Park

by Tuncel on June 15, 2009

This Sunday, we wanted to do a short shopping then went to swmimming in Istinye very close to the financial district Levent. Well, this post will be about Istinye Park and I will write a new post about the swimming.
I would not in fact write about a shopping mall which I find very uninteresting, but if you never the less want to go one, here is the one most interesting.
Istinye Park is one of the newest shopping centers of Istanbul, having about 300 stores both local and international designers.
It has two features that sets it apart:
1. Offers street side shopping with luxury brands such as Prada or Louis Vuitton
2 Has a Turkish Food Bazaar which you will see in the video as “Istinye Pazari”

At the entrance of the bazaar, you will see “Taze” by Taris where you probably will find the second best Olive Oil of Turkey ( the best is Laleli ) along with soaps and other olive related products.

Right across it, is the “Malatya Pazari” ( Their main shop is in Misir Bazaar ( Spice Market ) ). Here is the best place to shop for all kinds of edible nuts, dried fruit and spices.

What I like most about Istinye Park is the quality of restaurants especially in the Bazaar.

For meat lovers  “Gunaydin Steak House” is a must. You pick your meat from the butcher shop inside and order it to be cooked while seated at a table with all the different sauces that might go with your steak.

I usually visit “Osmani” where you may find all the varieties of traditional Turkish Food since it has become harder to find a clean and fine restaurant serving local cuisine. Try it and you will thank me.
